As part of our Maui Luxury Hotel Guide, I’m super excited to share with you this new and notable luxury all-suite luxury hotel in Maui. We spent nearly a week at the Honua Kai Resort and Spa on north Ka’anapali beach and will definitely be back. The Honua Kai is a new, family-centric, luxury villa property situated on 38 beautiful acres that provides luxury amenities at great value. With over 600 spacious one, two and three bedroom suites ranging from 585 to over 2,000 square feet, the Honua Kai is a warm and inviting retreat for large families, extended families traveling together and those looking for all the comforts of home on vacation. Each luxury villa has its own spacious glass-enclosed lanais, are modernly furnished and equipped with gourmet kitchens with Bosch appliances, have large bathrooms and cozy linens. Views are equally impressive, as nearly 80 percent of the Honua Kai’s rooms have a partial or full view of the ocean. Ocean Front rooms offer the best views, as well as their own private grills on the lanai. There is also a community grilling area down by the pool where you will find many Dads chatting and grilling up the evening’s dinner. The property ahas an on-site kids club and babysitting service available. Wireless Internet is included in the resort fee for the length of your stay, as is complimentary valet parking.
Luxurious Oceanfront Retreat
The Honua Kai is home to one of the largest lanais on Maui. With a glass-enclosed lanai of more than 3,200 square feet, the extravagant 3-bedroom Kamehameha Suite is located oceanfront on the 6th floor of the Hokulani tower and has 270-degree views of the West Maui Mountains, islands of Moloka`i and Lana`i, and the Pacific Ocean.
‘aina Gourmet Market and Organic Grocery
The ‘aina gourmet market has a spectacular selection of organic foods, speciality items and one of the best wine selections I’ve seen at a property on Maui. The café serves fresh baked and locally made pastries, organic cupcakes and espresso grown on a coffee plantation across the street. Interested in taking a picnic lunch to the beach? Stop in to the deli for a wide selection of gourmet picnic lunches and snacks.
Duke’s Restaurant
Duke’s Restaurant is a great place to watch the sunset and enjoy great food and live entertainment nightly at 5pm. Try Duke’s specialty cocktail, the “Lolo Lehua,” served only at Duke’s and presented in a fun retro hula dancer mug.
Poolside
There is something for everyone poolside at the Honua Kai. With four hot tubs, infinity pool, an endless lazy river, water slide, baby beach and poolside food and drink service from Duke’s Restaurant, you can spend all week lounging by the pool and never get bored. Just outside the pool is a short walk to the beach, large grassy areas to throw the ball and lots of lounge chairs and shady spots to catch a snooze.
Try: Rent a cabana for two for the day for just $25. One of the best perks: You get unlimited towels and can move your reservation tag to any unoccupied cabana. Each cabana is also tucked away into corners around the winding pool, so you can escape to read a book, or cuddle up a kiddo in the shade.
Note: This trip was entirely funded by our family and we were not required to write or endorse the Honua Kai. Select images courtesy of Honua Kai.
