Hello friends. It is my first post in a long, long while. It has been a challenging year and while we certainly have a long way to go, I’m excited to bring some hope to your inbox with my new Smart Return to Travel newsletter with family travel tips to help you reimagine a smart return to travel together at our own pace as the world reopens.
If this is your first time here, welcome. A brief re-introduction. I’m Anne. I started Hip Travel Mama over 12 years ago and was one of the early “pioneers” of family travel blogging. My day job is raising two future female leaders and running a freelance creative communications firm for consumer lifestyle businesses. I have been a professional in the travel industry for the better part of two decades.
This past year has been extraordinarily challenging on many levels for our families and the people and businesses in the places and destinations I love. My goal with this new travel newsletter is to bring you smart family travel tips and interviews direct from the source to support the travel industry’s recovery and help you plan a smart return to travel with your family when the time is right. Subscribe to get exclusive first access to inside info and good travel news for a smart return to travel directly to your inbox.
In each newsletter, I’ll focus on a destination, hotel, activity, or service to help your family get away to relax and recharge when the time is right for your family. You will get exclusive first access to interviews with industry experts, tips from families who have traveled there, travel agents, and people in the destination to help you get inside information from the source to make smart travel decisions. I’ll offer ideas and inspiration to fit your comfort level – whether it is finding creative ways to getaway close to home, or discover a new open adventure.

We are living in very fluid times with much uncertainty. The only certainty is that things will change, but the very hopeful act of planning and dreaming can shift our moods and improve our mental health (a topic you will hear more about from me in the coming months), and a real challenge we and our kids are all struggling with right now.
The decision to travel now is a very personal one, so if you are not ready or feel it is safe to travel yet, that’s okay. Just file the newsletter away for later and come back to it when the time is right. If are planning to travel, be a responsible traveler and follow airline, destination, and CDC guidelines for travel.
Do you work for a travel company or destination? I’d love to hear how you are supporting the smart return to travel here.
Know someone in your life who could benefit from smart family travel tips for a return to travel and/or travel dreaming? Please share so they can subscribe to reimagine a return to travel and receive good news in their inbox too.
In this with you,
Anne
