One visit to The Springs Resort and Spa and you will be hooked. Making the long, windy journey to Arenal was a haul, but once we got there was perhaps the highlight of our trip.
No wonder The Springs Resort and Spa Costa Rica was featured on a season of ABC’s The Bachelor. It oozes romance and exotic luxury. The suprising find? It is actually an extremely family friendly hotel too. We met families from all around the country and the world, spending a few days to a week as a home base for adventure in the Arenal, Costa Rica.
Raining in the rainforest? You will hardly notice as you soak and slide in one of The Springs 28 mineral natural hot springs, or relax at the giant spa while soaking in spectacular views of the canopy and Arenal volcano on clear days.
On property is Club Rio, an adventurous outdoor park located just a short bus ride down the hill. There you can float the warm river and gentle rapids on an intertube, hike among water falls and get up close and personal to wildlife at the wildlife rescue. This is an outstanding place for those less adventurous to immerse yourself in jungle adventure in a safe and controlled environment.
The Springs also is conveniently located near endless ziplining, canopy bridge walks and more.
All of this luxury and conveience in the jungle does not come cheap, but it is worth the splurge. The Springs starts at $350/night in the off season, and $570/night during peak season.
Hat tip to my pal Amie at Ciao Bambino for the recommendation.
