Our last stop in our long #CaliforniaWeekends road trip led us to the Sheraton San Diego Hotel and Marina. We had a master plan to visit Sea World, The San Diego Zoo and San Diego Wild Animal Park, but by this time in our road trip, we were all exhausted and wanted to simply soak up the Southern California beaches with good friends. We spent the remainder of our road trip in San Diego relaxing with local friends on the beach in La Jolla and Coronado and it was blissful.
We spent so little time at the Sheraton San Diego, but we loved several things about this family friendly San Diego Hotel:
1. The central San Diego Marina location: It is literally across the street from San Diego Airport so it could not be more convenient to making your flight home. The Sheraton San Diego Hotel and Marina is centrally located and a short drive to downtown, La Jolla, Sea World, The San Diego Zoo, or over the bridge to Coronado. I thought it would be loud with airplanes taking off and landing, but with the exception of a few airplanes spotted here and there, we hardly noticed we were close to the airport.
2. The Pool and activities center: The pool was packed and there were ample games for families to stay active by the pool, including a poolside ping-pong table and fun ping-pong ball dispenser.
3. The fun Nautical decor: The hotel has two towers and we stayed in the newly renovated Bay Tower. The rooms had a fun, nautical theme, a perfect fit with the stunning marina views from our balcony. There is also a Starbucks in the lobby which was great for grabbing morning coffee and a picnic lunch to take with us for a day at the beach.
Most importantly, The Sheraton San Diego Hotel and Marina was a great home base in the San Diego sunshine to do this:
