February is the month of love, and there are no shortage of romantic places to spend time with your better half! Whether your travels take you to the Hawaiian Islands like ours did last year, a romantic ski weekend or an unforgettable trip to Paris, it’s not too late to get creative and pull out that romantic weekend getaway this Valentine’s Day. To help you give the gift of travel this Valentine’s Day, we’ve curated several trips including our list of 5 of our favorite romantic Northwest hotels and spas and a few special travel packages to spoil your sweet heart:
Splurge: A Romantic Parisian Trip
Paris is arguably one of the most romantic cities in the world. Vive Unique, a website focusing on hand-picked home rentals, recently expanded their collection of homes to include 300 beautiful apartments and townhomes across Paris. Whether you’re staying in Champs-Elysee for world famous shopping, or Le Marais to experience amazing art, these home rentals allow for an authentic, and super romantic, French experience. Also check out Rue Amandine, for ways to spend an amazing authentic Parisian Valentines Day and spoil your man!
The Most Romantic location in Paris? While the Eiffel Tower is a sure thing, we’re also swooning over the Pont Des Arts, a footbridge over the river Seine. The Pont Des Arts metal side-grilles are lined with padlocks attached by scores of lovers who declare their love by locking the padlocks and tossing the key into the river below. What better way to signify your never ending love than joining in on the padlock fun?
Ski: A Snow-Filled Valentine In Big Bear
Nothing is quite as romantic as cuddling up next to a warm crackling fire while snow falls outside your window. There are endless ski resorts to choose from across North America for a romantic ski getaway. In Big Bear, California’s Pine Knot Guest Ranch is offering a special package for lovers this month with luxury cabins featuring in-room jacuzzis, a wood-burning fireplace, a bottle of champagne, chocolates, and aromatic bath salts upon your arrival.
The Sweet Basil Bistro is offering a special night just for couples on February 14th, featuring a 5-course meal with a complimentary glass of champagne, candlelit surroundings, an available wine-pairing option, and live music performed by singer Zackery Meyer.
Stay: Love at the Lodge Night
The Love at the Lodge package offers couples a night stay in a room with a fireplace and a jetted tub for two at the Salish Lodge and Spa overlooking Snoqualmie Falls. The night includes chocolate lollipops with Salish honey and cinnamon for dipping and half a bottle of W & J Graham’s Six Grapes Port.
Stop into The Spa at Salish Lodge for a Couples Fireside Chocolate Massage with, you guessed it, plenty of chocolate. The 50-minute side by side massage takes place surrounded by rose petals and next to a crackling fire. End your massage with Salish house made honey truffles to take with you back to your room. It doesn’t get much sweeter than that!
Bonus: Here’s a video of my segment on Q13 FOX on romantic getaways–including a romantic evening in Woodinville wine country.
