I must admit, it felt a bit strange to drop off the kids at school and head down to the Four Seasons Seattle for a mid-day spa day. I am used to running flat out, task list and my iPhone, running, running, running from one meeting to the next, cramming as much work and productivity in before I turn into a pumpkin and this Cinderella’s clock hits 2pm. I’m then running, running, running (rather, driving) back to pick up the kids from school. But on this overcast day in one of my favorite cities, I was on my way to the Four Seasons Seattle for a spa date and ladies lunch with one of my favorite hip moms – my talented friend and HipTravelMama luxe style contributor, Sophie Vander.
Meet you at the Spa
The Four Seasons Seattle Spa has a serene and contemporary vibe, beautifully decorated and a place to completely escape and relax. I had the a massage and Sophie had the Vitamin C nourishing facial. Sophie raved about the facial being one of the best she’d had – and the massage was perfect – 50 minutes of perfect pressure and relaxation.
We ended our ladies lunch experience in ART Restaurant, at a window table overlooking Elliott Bay. ART is a fabulous venue for a date night, girls night out, or a special evening out with family. Food contributor, Fiona Van Alstyne has a great review of dining at ART with families that will inspire you to visit with your kids too.
ART hours: Breakfast: Daily 6:30am-11am; Lunch: Daily 11am-2pm; Dinner: 5pm-10pm; Lounge: Daily 11am-12am
Put Mom in Time Out. (Hint: This is the post you share with your husbands)
If social plans and running to sports and kids activities fill up your weekends, you may consider taking some quick time for yourself during the week while the kids are in school. No excuses that you can’t find childcare, or you are too busy. We busy moms don’t take enough time to recharge our batteries and Mother’s day is a good excuse to take a little time for ourselves and relax.
Have you ever taken a mid-day spa break? If so, share your story with us in the comments.
