The Westin has two properties on the north side of Maui: The Westin Maui Resort and Spa right in the heart of Ka’anapali, and The Westin Ka’annapali Ocean Resort Villas on north Ka’anapali beach. Regardless of which Westin Maui property you choose, you will share amenities, signing privileges at the several restaurants, as well as complimentary shuttle service between the two Westin resorts. Both properties have all the amenities you would expect from a Starwood property: luxurious Westin Heavenly beds, Heavenly Spas, fitness centers and restaurants with great food. With Westin’s stay at one, dine at all program, you can eat at either of the resorts and charge it to your room. Kids under 4 eat free.

Family Activities:
For families with young kids
There is no shortage of activities for kids and parents at the Westin Maui. We met Jack Stone, Westin’s Director of Fun. He greeted us with the warmest smile I’ve ever seen and I knew we were going to have a spectacular day at the resort. Jack and his staff have thought of everything to ensure families can reconnect, recharge and have fun in the sun. Poolside, the food is awesome (try the fish tacos and a lava flow, and a healthy smoothie and fruit for the kids). The Westin Kids Club Discovery Program offers full, half day and evening programs for kids 5-12. Parents will love the opportunity to share some time at the Heavenly Spa, enjoy a quiet dinner, or bask in the sun at the adults-only pool, You can even play a little aqua poker and golf for a few hours while the kids explore and play with friends.
Pineapple Mike, as he is affectionately called, entertains the kids at The Westin, helping them decorate surfboard postcards and coconuts to send home. He also ships fresh Maui gold pineapples, so you can share a taste of the island with friends and family back home. The resort is also home to an endless array of tropical birds, pink flamingos and black swans. Kids can feed the Koi at 9:30am each morning in the lagoon. The teen set will enjoy more independent activities including paddle board and surf lessons, as well as a Teen Spa menu.
Get Back to Your Best Self
What I love the most about Westin is their attitude towards serving their guests. Their mantra is to help guests get back to their best self and they work hard to provide activities that help you relax and recharge. After a day poolside in the sun with family, a mai tai, a good book and a great snack, I’d say you are well on your way!
Best View Rooms:
Ocean front rooms offer the best views of the ocean and nearby islands of Lanai and Molokai. The main Ocean Tower has views of pool and beach. The Beach tower is closest to the beach and is also home to the more than 31 luxe suites. January-March are great times to do some whale watching from your room, and each room comes with binoculars to get the perfect view.
Try: The Rip it and Relax Spa Package: spend a day learning to surf in the sun just outside the hotel, then head to the spa for a
massage and some relaxation. This package is for all ages 12 and up. A surf lesson packed with lots of water action and fun along with a 50 minute massage will be just the Hawaiian experience you want. Priced at $200.00
